Challis Community Trails Alliance (CCTA) is an outdoor recreation collaborative focused on promoting and enhancing trail systems in and near Challis, Idaho. The goal is to provide increased recreation opportunities for residents and visitors to the area with a trail system that goes from the backyard of Challis to the surrounding scenic public lands, connecting to vast multiple use trail networks.

CCTA also grooms a Nordic trail system for winter use by cross country skiers and has a lending library of Nordic ski gear available in adult and children’s sizes. Learn more at www.bighillnordic.com.

Our City Trails committee focuses on enhancing the walkability of our town by providing recommendations to the City of Challis.

CCTA is a collaborative group that includes community members as well as representatives from the Challis Chamber of Commerce, the City of Challis, the BLM Challis Field Office, Idaho Parks & Recreation, Challis Area Health Center, and the USFS Salmon-Challis National Forest, Challis-Yankee Fork and Middle Fork Ranger Districts.

We host monthly meetings, volunteer opportunities, and special events.

Send us a message at the Contact Us page if you would like more information or would like to get involved. We welcome volunteer involvement and would of course appreciate any donations.
